Dr. Lawrence Chan is a dedicated General Practitioner who prioritises the holistic and comprehensive care of his patients. He firmly believes in establishing enduring relationships as a cornerstone of effective healthcare coordination. Dr. Chan takes pleasure in treating patients of all ages, accompanying them through various life stages with genuine care.
As a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and an accredited practitioner with The Royal North Shore Hospital Antenatal Shared Care program, Dr. Chan is committed to maintaining high standards in general practice. He graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of New South Wales and is an Honorary Associated Lecturer of Macquarie University, teaching medical students with his passion for quality care in General Practice.
Dr Chan has a strong value for health equity, having volunteered as a doctor in rural Uganda for 6 months, and is now also a volunteer GP at the Asylum Seekers Centre, providing free medical care to asylum seekers who have no access to Medicare. His experience in global health has also led his interest in travel medicine.
The Rotary Club of Northbridge awarded Dr Chan the Pride of Workmanship Award in 2024.
Outside of his professional work, he finds joy his three children, volunteering in church activities, service to the homeless and tries to fit in some football and musical instruments in the spare time.
Dr Chan is fluent in both English and Cantonese.
