A Specialist General Practitioner holds both a primary medical degree (MBBS) and a General Practice specialist degree (FRACGP), reflecting a minimum of ten years of comprehensive medical training. With additional training in various areas to address specific healthcare needs, ongoing continuing education ensures they stay abreast of the latest medical advancements.

Dr Shadi Hekmat graduated in 2005 and completed her postgraduate training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne. She has been in General Practice since 2011 and completed the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2013. She moved to Sydney in 2016 to continue her GP career and serve the community in Sydney.

Her special interests include Women’s Health, Children’s health, weight management and lifestyle medicine, Dermatology, Skin Cancer Medicine and minor surgical procedures. She is trained in implanon removal and insertion. She also has experience in cosmetic medicine and injectable treatments.

She speaks fluent English and Persian (Farsi). Beyond her professional commitments, Dr Shadi enjoys bush walking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and 2 young children. She is a compassionate listener and loves forming long-term relationships with her patients. She believes in holistic approach to medicine and enjoys health promotion and patient advocacy.
