Special Interests

Dr. Torii's journey in medicine began at the University of Melbourne, where he pursued his Medical degree and successfully graduated in 1978. Early in his career, he engaged in General Practice rotations in Colac and Castlemaine, further expanding his expertise through rotations at the prestigious Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne as part of the Family Medicine Program. Dr. Torii's commitment to women's health is underscored by his possession of a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and his active registration with The Royal North Shore Hospital Shared Antenatal Care Program.

With a remarkable four-decade tenure in General Practice in Northbridge, Dr. Torii has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the community. Joining Northbridge Medical Practice in June 2016, he continues to contribute his wealth of experience and dedication to patient care.

Fluent in Japanese, Dr. Torii ensures effective communication with a diverse range of patients. Beyond his professional commitments, he is a family-oriented individual with two adult children. Dr. Torii prioritises his well-being by engaging in regular swimming sessions to stay fit. On his days off, he finds joy in the culinary arts, indulging in the creativity of cooking. 

  • Does Northbridge Medical Practice take walk-ins?
    Generally, the practice does not take walk-in appointments Monday - Friday. However, clinic hours on Saturday from 8am-11am are reserved for walk-in appointments only.
  • Are Doctors available for home visits?
    If you are too unwell to come into the surgery yet need to be seen by a doctor, a home visit may be arranged for those residing in the Northbridge area. If you are out of the area or need a doctor out of our clinic hours, please contact the after hours doctor service 13 Sick on 13 74 25.
  • English is not my first language, can Northbridge Medical Practice help me?
    Northbridge Medical Practice has a variety of doctors and staff who are multilingual. Languages include – English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek and Japanese.
  • Where can I offer my feedback?
    If you ever have a question, praise or complaint regarding the practices privacy handling please feel free to express your thoughts to the practice manager and they will prioritise fixing any issue that may arise or provide you with any requested information you may like in regards to the practice's policies and procedures.
